Yesterday President Donald Trump instantly made national and international headlines with tweets accusing former President Barack Obama and his administration of bugging the Trump Tower in October 2016. The implication being that during the critical last weeks of the 2016 Presidential Campaign, the Obama Administration official had full access to the most sensitive conversations Trump and his team were having. Predictably, the failed mainstream media is making hysterical calls for proof (ironic, given that they always took Obama’s claims at face value.) We can only assume evidence is forthcoming, but in the meantime I recap some facts we know and connect some dots that lead to a frightening scenario. Here’s what we know:
- #NeverTrump Republican(s) hired FusionGPS, a Washington-based opposition research firm, in 2015 to dig up dirt on Donald Trump. (Link to related article)
- In June 2016 former M16 spy Christopher Steele was paid $158,000 to “investigate” Trump
- As a student at Cambridge University, Mr. Steele was described as a “confirmed socialist.”
- After Trump won the GOP nomination to run for President in July 2016, it is believed the DNC or other Democrat affiliates took over funding of Christopher Steele’s continued investigation.
- Steele’s report made the outrageous and scandalous claim that Trump had ‘hired group of prostitutes to defile Moscow hotel room where Obamas slept.’ (Link to related article)
- Steele’s report has since been widely discredited, to the point even Joe Biden indicated “surprise” that the FBI had taken it seriously. (Link to related article)
- The Obama Administration’s track record of #ConstitutionalAbuse is well known, for example the IRS Scandal, obstruction of justice related to the ‘Fast and Furious’ debacle, and Loretta Lynch’s clandestine meeting with Bill Clinton just weeks before the FBI announced the results of their Clinton Foundation investigation, to name but a few…
- The Obama Administration made a FISA (‘Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act’) request in June 2016 “to monitor communications involving Donald Trump and several advisers. The request, uncharacteristically, is denied.” (Link to related article)
- In October 2016 the Obama Administration returned to court with a narrower FISA request that was approved. This FISA request was related to suspected links of Donald Trump and his associates to Russian banks. However, “no evidence is found — but the wiretaps continue.” See Andrew McCarthy’s piece at the National Review for more information.
- Incredibly, in January 2017, right before leaving office, Obama broadens NSA Powers and loosens restrictions on sharing of the most sensitive information within the 16 U.S. intelligence agencies. As a result, confidential information is opened to hundreds, if not thousands of embedded Obama Administration appointees and hires; undoubtedly some of them sworn enemies of Donald J. Now for the rub…
As David Axelrod tweeted yesterday, if the FISA court approved the wire tapping it must have been “OKed by a court for a reason.” Exactly, and Americans must ask themselves was that reason Mr. Steele’s outrageous and discredited dossier? A bunko report with origins from Trump’s enemies, both Republican and Democrat? Moreover, what has been the role of some Republicans in using “for hire” investigators to develop fictitious grounds for launching Federal investigations of Trump? One wonders especially about characters such as Senator John McCain, who is reported to have promoted and passed along the libelous dossier to the FBI. In short, could it be a bi-partisan #SwampMonster that not only went after Donald Trump but actually became a destructive force of such magnitude that it risked undermining our Constitutional Republic? Think about it, an idealogical anti-constitutional White House Administration with full access to the opposing party’s Presidential Candidate’s most sensitive conversations. What could possibly go wrong? In addition, Americans must ask who knew about the Trump Wire Taps and when? Barack Obama, Senator John McCain, Representative Paul Ryan? Some are even speculating about Paul Ryan’s recent cagy response regarding the #TrumpWireTaps on Fox News.
We’ll wait for further revelations on the facts of what happened from the Trump Administration. However, if this posting even only roughly assimilates what happened, all citizens of every political stripe should be outraged to the point that it makes Watergate seem trivial by comparison.
